First Call for Papers

"Challenges for Information Professionals and LIS services in the 21st century".


Organised by the Sri Lanka Library Association

June 2015 in Colombo


Abstracts are called for NACLIS 2015 to be held in June 2015 in Colombo (venue to be confirmed). Prospective presenters may submit concept or research papers in any subject area (or in a combination of several areas) related to the themes of the conference. The authors, whose abstracts, are selected, have the option of submitting the final work in one of the following formats;

  • Abstract up to a maximum of 500 words, OR
  • Short paper up to a maximum of 2000 words OR
  • Full paper not exceeding 5000 words.

Seminar on Public Relations and Communication.....Animated Gif Update 4



SLLA Special Librarians Group is organizing a one day seminar on "Public Relations and Communication for organizational development in the Knowledge era" to be held on 27th Feburary 2015 at the National Institute of Library and Information Science ( NILIS), auditorium, University of Colombo. Mr. Ajith Jayawardhana, Head of Training at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute will discuss on Public Relations and Communications.  Dr. Wathmanel Seneviratne, Librarian OUSL and Mrs. Shivanthi Weerasinghe, Librarian Bank of Ceylon will share their experiences on Knowledge Management.

Target group of this seminar will be Library and Information professionals and other personnel engaged in Information and Knowledge Management related activities

Vijita de Silva Research Award 2014/15 new-animated


The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) is pleased to announce the ‘Vijita de Silva Research Award’, the annual research award for the best completed research in Library and Information Science (LIS) field in Sri Lanka. The award comprises a cash grant of Rs 50,000.00 and a certificate. In the event the award is given to two researches, each will receive Rs 25,000.00 and a certificate.  More details ..
