National Conference on Library and Information Studies (NACLIS) 2016
Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) is the only professional body assigned with the responsibility of safeguarding the profession of Library and Information Studies in Sri Lanka. The SLLA National Conference is an annual event aiming at promoting professional and academic experiences among librarians and information professionals in Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be held on the 23rd June, at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
The SLLA National Conference is an annual event aiming at promoting professional and academic experiences among librarians and information professionals in Sri Lanka and also to provide its members the opportunity to present their research findings. This event was held during last 12 years, and was found to be highly beneficial to LIS professionals. With a view of making this year’s conference aligned with national priorities, we have decided to base the conference on the theme “Marching towards excellence: Contributions of LIS professionals in building a better society” In conjunction with this event we are also organizing a promotion campaign to motivate developers and users of software and other IT accessories related to library automation.
We cordially invite you to send your nomination/ nominate members of your organisation working in the field of information and communication to participate at the Conference. We are confident that such participation will help them to upgrade their professional skills and thereby provide a more efficient and effective service to your organization. Given below are the registration fees for those who register before 10th June 2016:
- For SLLA members: Rs: 3000/=
- For non-members: Rs: 3500/= (Local) Foreign $40
- Retired library professionals: Rs. 2500/=
We would greatly appreciate if you could send in the names of participants together with remittance to the SLLA office by the 10th June 2016. Cheques could be drawn in favour of “Sri Lanka Library Association”. The programme, with the list of speakers and their topics will be sent to the participants in due course.
